Val Kilmer in Trouble With His Neighbours

Val Kilmer in Trouble With His Neighbours

Actor Val Kilmer’s neighbours aren’t happy. The man recently decided to convert his 6,000 acre ranch in Santa Fe, into a high-end bed and breakfast retreat. But his neighbours came in the way. But surprisingly, the reason behind this is not the increased traffic or noise that this development would create. All that the neighbours want from Mr. Kilmer is an apology for a statement he made to the Rolling Stones magazine a few years ago.

It seems he said some nasty things about the residents of this county, calling them drunkards, and called it the “homicidal capital of the SouthWest”. Then two years later, he said that he realized that most of the Vietnam veterans were “borderline criminal or poor … wretched kids” who landed in the army because they “got beat up by their dads” or “couldn’t finagle a scholarship.” Whether quoted or misquoted, statements like that in magazines sure are going to make some people very angry.

David Salazar of the San Miguel County Commission said that it would be better if the actor personally came to the Board of County Commissioners and clarify about his remarks. Only time would tell what turn this volatile situation takes.
